The Kaunertal Glacier Road.
29 hairpin bends, 26km long and every kind of alpine vegetation possible until you reach the powerful ice of the Kaunertal glacier landscape, an ascent of almost 1,500m. A trip along the Kaunertal Glacier Road is not just an experience for motorcyclists. 20 minutes from the Ladizium to the Feichten tollbooth (start of the Glacier Road).
How Ötzi the Iceman once Lived.
In Umhausen in the Ötz Valley, the Ötzi Village archaeological outdoor park demonstrates how the Alps’ earliest inhabitants used to live 5,000 years ago in the Neolithic period. It takes approximately 50 minutes to get to the Ötz Valley on the Inntal Autobahn. If you fancy a somewhat longer, but notably picturesque journey there, take the Piller Landesstraße route through the Kaunergrat Nature Park.

Indoor pools recommended for bathing and relaxing in the region are the family-friendly Quellalpin in Feichten in the Kaunertal Valley with its stunning rooftop sauna (approximately 25 minute journey), the Alpenquell adventure pool in Samnaun (30 minute journey), or the Aqua Dome thermal spa in Längenfeld for well-being of the highest calibre (approximately 50 minute journey).

Laudegg Castle in Ladis.
Situated on a prominent crag and visible from the Ladizium, Laudegg Castle keeps watch over the holiday village of Ladis. Once a Roman watchtower on the famous Via Claudia Augusta, the castle later served as the administrative headquarters of the Oberes Gericht region. Tours take place every Wednesday from July until September.
Culture & Shopping in Landeck.
In the district capital Landeck, which can be reached in around 25 minutes by car or by bus, take a pleasant stroll along the small shopping street. Then treat yourself to a delicacy from the local confectioner and chocolatier before immersing yourself in the culture of the Tyrolean Oberland at Landeck Castle.
An interactive museum dedicated to the high alpine Tyrol region, which has received numerous prizes and awards. Nominated for the European Museum of the Year Award in 2007 and 2015. Approximately 1 hour from the Ladizium via Landeck into the Paznauntal Valley and on to Galtür at the valley head.
One minute you are in mountain paradise, the next you are in the urban surroundings of the state capital. Innsbruck, with its world-famous attractions, fantastic museums, shopping facilities, culinary highlights and, not least, a not-to-be-missed alpine zoo for the whole family, is only 90km away. ÖBB trains run hourly from Landeck.

Unwind with a glass of good wine under the starlit sky on the terrace of your chalet.
